Found a competition hosted by the makers of the zombiepanic mod for HL2.
Unfortunately, I first found out about it a day before the deadline. Regardless I decided to make something for it, and more importantly getting a hang of Mudbox.
I made a scythe fashioned out of a warped wooden pole, with the head carved to resemble a raven eating a worm. In hindsight the texture is a little too dark, and could have used more highlights besides the worm for contrast. But I had fun and learned a few things along the way!

Concept for Unearthly Challenge '09

The concept given for UC '09 is that of "End Game", and whatever that means to you.
My idea is to have a scene that is basically split in two; hell on the left side of the hallway, heaven on the right. A little cliche, yes. To make it a little more interesting I've decided to have the pillars on both sides resemble ribs as if you are inside of something where both heaven and hell co-exist.
I'll block it out next to fine tune the idea.
